Celtic Carmelites
A Prayer Community of the Celtic Rite Old Catholic Church
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:4-7, NASB).
In a world of turmoil, strife, jealousy, and discontent, the Celtic Carmelites hold to the solitude of the ancient Desert Hermits and the spirit of union with God and creation held so dearly by the early Celtic Church. The bedrock beliefs of Christianity are our foundation, with primacy given to the commandment of our Savior Jesus Christ, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and curse you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain to the just and the unjust" (Matt.5:43-45). We are firm in our faith, and our faith tells us to love - not to affirm ungodly actions and beliefs, but to love. This allows us to be filled with the joy of the Lord and to look ever-forward to His return in the flesh.
The internet community of Celtic Carmelites invites you to provide us the privilege of praying for your needs to Jesus Christ, to God the Father, and to the Holy Spirit. We know through the inspiration of Scripture, the lives of the saints, and in our own experiences that the Holy Trinity will provide us with what we need (not necessarily what we want) when we come in prayer with humble and contrite hearts.
We welcome prayer requests from all faiths, yet we are committed Christians and we pray to the God of the Holy Bible. We also have a passion to reach those who do not yet have an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
When we receive prayer requests, we will acknowledge your contacting us, and then leave all further communication with us to you (in other words, we will not inundate your inbox with messages!). We do not seek or accept financial donations - it is our joy to come to the throne of Grace on your behalf.
We stand on the truth of Holy Scripture.
Journey with us where Jesus leads.
